Happy New Year
For every ending, there is a new beginning! Welcome to the beginning of another year. May this year be even better than the last.

New Year's Celebrations
Everyone has their special way of celebrating the incoming new year. It is usually based on a few factors: ethnicity, culture, tradition and personal choice. Attending a party, many times a large party, is often involved. Many are adult oriented. However, there are family friendly parties as well. Sometimes there are events more child focused, such as overnight skating parties at a local skating rink, or a church led celebration going until after midnight.

Goal Setting
Every year many participate in the tradition of setting new goals. Many goals do seem to be common, like lose weight, eat better, work out or exercise regularly, and connect more with family or friends. There are so many more that the list could go on forever. It is always best to write these goals down so they can be referred back to regularly. A big step that always seems to be forgotten is accountability.

Jack Frost
“Jack “ was a common name in the 1700s, so this was first implemented with the frost that the elf like creature was known to make happen. The name Jack Frost became a way to characterize the common aspects of the folklore character.
Jack Frost's Role:
- He's an elf, sprite, or spirit.
- He creates frost patterns on windows.
- He nips noses and toes in the cold.
- In some tales, he also colors autumn leaves.
In essence, he is a charming personification of a recognizable character, especially in North America and Britain.
